Attended Coachella, once a bassist in a punk band, mother, and a senior planner.

Well Sophia Emms sure has a lot to bring to the Stendahls table!

I thought that I kind of knew Sophia Emms, but after this interview, I was so confused. Mostly about myself. How did I not know all of this? Am I immune to information? Or am I a bad listener? I don’t know. But let’s not focus on me. (I didn’t even get an article like this.) (But hey, who am I but a simple copywriter) (Oops, now I focused on myself anyway.)

Let’s start over. The star of this piece is Sophia Emms!

Hey hey hey, welcome to Stendahls! Finally!

We’ve actually headhunted you, not once but three times. We’re delighted to have you here. What made you change your mind? “I’ve always seen Stendahls as a “big deal” and forward-leaning. Workwise, the timing wasn’t perfect, but it felt right to make the transition on a personal level. And now, after being here for a while, it feels new but familiar. A little bit like when spring finally arrives. Eagerness and excitement!”.

And there’s a reason why we always had a keen eye on Sophia. After working as a planner for 12 years, she clearly made a name for herself in the industry, working at Valentin & Byhr and Change the agency. She also ran APG, the Account Planning Group, in Gothenburg for a while.

And now she’s here. At last. What will you be working on at Stendahls? “At the moment, I’m working with Husqvarna and Omegapoint. I primarily work with brand development and securing the advertising effect,” says Sophia.

“For me to thrive at Stendahls, the team dynamic is important to me,” she continues. “That internally we always strive to sharpen our deliveries. And also that we have a consensus and can work effectively. In my opinion, the start-up in every project sets the tone for the rest of our work. Therefore, I think well-done templates for briefs and project plans are crucial”.

But besides work, Sophia, tell me something about yourself that you are really proud of? “Most of all, the many adventures my daughter and I have had. But also other adventures like studying in Hawaii, San Francisco, Cambridge, Rome, dynamic job assignments and that time when I was a pretty insecure bassist in a punk band..”.

Ohh, so it’s your own song you’ll be adding to the Stendahls Spotify list? “No. When in need of encouragement and energy, I don’t listen to myself; my go-to-song is “Taking over” by Joe Goddard. The guitar loop that starts at 00.32 sweeps me off my feet and takes me back to watching him at Coachella. Which was a very, very good concert”.

So. Back to me. No. I mean Sophia. Thank you so much for your time. It was such a pleasure getting to know you better! Again, welcome to Stendahls!

Do you want to know Sophia more? Maybe as a colleague? Of course, you do! She’s awesome. Take a look at open job opportunities at Stendahls.
